Are you able to change it from a zip file on Android?
You need a app to open locked files like zip and rar.
I use RAR for opening any file I need to.
How do you add the mod to the game on a mac. I've placed the file basically everywhere. Even in the mod folder.
It works, I just wasn't far enough along in the story.

What should I do?
It is likely that you have added the DLC to an older version of the base game, which does not support it. Please download the latest version of the game (v1.0.998) and add the DLC to it. All saved data will remain and will work with the new version.

how do i get to the basement?
You need to do all sex scenes except Wedding Sex and Kitchen Sex. Check if all these scenes have more than 0 in the sex statistics screen, maybe you missed some scene. After talking about bdsm buy a basement upgrade in the shop.
I did everything except for the whole wedding thing and nothing happens, the dlc folder is in the game folder
